Joe Acheson, better known for his work as Hidden Orchestra, spend some time at Lizard’s point, the southernmost tip of the UK mainland, and recorded environmental sounds. An EP called “Marconi & The Lizard” (named after radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi) is the result and will be released in May, on Tru Thoughts.
As this is a collage of sounds, it is hard to describe it with words. The result is a still very rhythmical and musical, a clever mixture of ambience and synthesis, hard to play in the radio, but very interesting to listen to.
Very inspiring, sometimes disturbing, but also soothing! You’re into experimental stuff? This is one for your wishlist!
